Back-to-Dance Essentials for a Successful Season!✨
A new dance season is here! Whether you’re a returning TDF dancer or stepping into the studio for the very first time, being prepared can make all the difference. From what’s in your dance bag to the mindset you bring into the classroom, these are the essentials every dancer should have ready for Season 29!
🎒 Start With Your Dance Bag
Your dance bag is your best friend! Before heading to class, make sure you have everything you need.
☐ Correct dance shoes for each class
☐ Filled water bottle
☐ Extra hair ties
☐ Hairbrush + hairspray
☐ Deodorant
☐ Small towel
☐ Extra socks/tights
☐ Any personal essentials you may need
TDF Tip: Label your shoes, water bottles, dance bags, and personal belongings! It makes it much easier to keep track of your things throughout the season.
👯♀️ Come to Class Ready
Being prepared starts before you even walk into the classroom. Make sure you arrive with the proper attire, your hair secured and out of your face, and the correct shoes ready to go.
☐ Wear the correct class attire
☐ Hair secured and out of your face
☐ Shoes labeled and ready
☐ Water bottle filled
☐ Arrive on time
☐ Be ready to learn, work, and have fun!
Being prepared allows you to spend less time worrying about what you forgot and more time focusing on becoming a stronger dancer.
📲 Stay Connected
There’s more to being prepared than what's inside your dance bag! Staying informed throughout the season is an important part of being a TDF dancer and family.
☐ Check your BAND messages regularly
☐ Know your weekly class schedule
☐ Keep up with studio announcements
☐ Stay aware of important dates and deadlines
☐ Ask questions when you're unsure
When in doubt, check your studio communication first!
💜 Bring the Essentials You Can't Pack
While shoes, water bottles, and hair supplies are important, the most valuable things a dancer can bring to class can't be packed into a dance bag.
☐ Confidence
☐ Commitment
☐ Kindness
☐ Teamwork
☐ Focus
☐ Positive energy
☐ A willingness to grow
Dance isn't just about perfecting steps. It's about learning how to work with others, challenge yourself, support your teammates, and continue growing both inside and outside of the studio.
✨ The Most Important Essential? YOU.
You don't have to walk into the studio knowing everything. You don't have to be perfect. You simply have to show up, be willing to learn, and give yourself permission to grow.
The best dancers don't just bring their shoes. They bring their whole selves.
So fill that water bottle, pack your dance bag, put your hair up, and get ready...
Season 29, here we come! 💜
SAVE THIS CHECKLIST and share it with your dance friends so everyone can start the season feeling prepared, confident, and ready to dance!
